Traditional GM 14-Bolt housings were not originally designed for steering axle use, which often creates sealing challenges once axle shafts begin cycling through large steering angles and suspension travel. Standard sealing methods can struggle with shaft movement and housing contamination in extreme off-road environments.
The Revolution system relocates the sealing surface inward near the carrier where shaft movement is significantly reduced. This creates a more stable sealing environment and improves long-term reliability in high-articulation steering axle applications. Using a common Dana 60 inner seal also improves serviceability by allowing replacements to be sourced easily when needed.
