Tech Insight
Crane Axle’s Dana 44 Inner C’s outperform OE cast iron knuckles by using 8620 chromoly steel — a material known for its high carbon content, exceptional toughness, and ability to withstand extreme steering and suspension loads. This alloy provides a hardened outer shell for impact resistance and a ductile core for superior fatigue life, making it ideal for off-road abuse, high-angle steering setups, and heavy tire/wheel combinations.
If you're straightening a bent axle, rebuilding from scratch, or upgrading to aftermarket knuckles, this Inner C set ensures your foundation is as strong as the rest of your build.
