When upgrading your Jeep YJ or XJ from the factory two piece vacuum disconnect axle to an RCV Ultimate Dana 30 CV Axle Set, this block-off kit is required to complete the conversion. It eliminates the OEM disconnect housing, allowing the use of a stronger one piece inner axle shaft for better durability, smoother power delivery, and improved reliability on and off the trail.
The kit includes everything needed to properly seal the axle housing and remove the weak factory disconnect system.

- Only needed for Dana 30 axles originally equipped with the factory vacuum-disconnect system.
Tech Insight
Jeep’s early Dana 30 vacuum disconnect axles use a weak two piece passenger side inner shaft. Converting to RCV’s one piece CV axle dramatically improves strength, eliminates disconnect related failures, and delivers smoother engagement. The block-off kit seals the original disconnect housing and allows the updated one piece shaft to operate correctly.
Without this kit, the housing cannot be properly sealed and the RCV axle cannot be installed.
