Crane Axle 40-Spline Rear Spindle Wheel Bearing Set (for Crane Spindle System)
CA01030
The Crane Axle 40 Spline Spindle Wheel Bearing Set is designed specifically for Crane Axle 40 spline rear spindles and 40 spline GM 14-Bolt spindle applications. This complete bearing package provides the components necessary to properly support high-strength 40 spline axle assemblies used in competition crawlers, rock bouncers, and heavy-duty off-road builds.
Built around precision Timken bearings and races, this kit is engineered to handle the increased load capacity and shock forces associated with large tires, high horsepower, and aggressive off-road use. The included spacers, seals, and retaining hardware help maintain proper preload and lubrication while improving wheel end durability under extreme operating conditions.
Includes:
- (2) Timken Inner Bearings and Races
- (2) Timken Outer Bearings and Races
- (2) Wheel Seals
- (2) Bearing Spacers
- (2) Bearing Retaining Snap Rings
Note: Fits Crane Axle 40 spline spindle system only

Tech Insight
Moving to a 40 spline wheel end setup significantly increases axle strength by allowing the use of larger diameter axle shafts capable of handling higher torque loads and extreme traction conditions. However, larger shafts also place additional stress on wheel bearings and spindle components, making bearing quality and preload control critical.
This system uses Timken bearings combined with precision spacers and retaining hardware to help maintain proper bearing preload and lubrication under heavy load. Proper wheel end support is especially important in rock bouncing and competition environments where repeated shock loading can quickly damage undersized or improperly supported bearing assemblies.
