Tech Insight

Full-float rear axle assemblies rely on large inner and outer wheel bearings to support both rotational load and vehicle weight. In towing, hauling, and oversized tire applications, worn bearings can quickly lead to wheel-end movement, overheating, hub wear, and premature axle damage if not serviced properly.

Replacing bearings, races, and wheel seals together helps ensure proper bearing preload and long-term reliability. During installation, inspect the spindle and hub bore for signs of wear or heat discoloration that may indicate previous bearing failure or lubrication issues.
