Using a pneumatically operated locking mechanism, the ARB Air Locker completely locks the differential when activated, preventing the internal gears from rotating independently. This forces both axle shafts to turn together with the ring gear, providing maximum traction exactly when it’s needed. When disengaged, the differential functions like a standard open unit, maintaining predictable handling, reduced driveline wear, and smooth street manners. This design allows drivers to move through difficult terrain in a slower, safer, and more controlled manner, reducing the likelihood of vehicle damage and environmental impact.
