Traditional steering arm systems place the majority of steering load directly on the mounting studs and fasteners. In extreme off-road applications running large tires and hydraulic assist steering, this can lead to fastener movement, steering slop, or hardware failure over time.
The Crane Axle interlocking system uses a precision-machined keyed interface between the steering arm and knuckle to transfer steering force into the knuckle body itself rather than relying entirely on bolt clamping force. Combined with 8620 chromoly construction, this creates a more stable steering assembly capable of handling high shock loads and repeated off-road abuse while maintaining tighter steering geometry.
