Why 8620 Chromoly?

Our knuckles are manufactured from 8620 alloy chromoly steel—known for its exceptional strength and fatigue resistance. With a tensile strength of 97,000 psi and yield strength of 57,000 psi, 8620 chromoly provides a tough outer surface and ductile core. This means superior resistance to wear, cracking, and impact—ideal for high-torque off-road performance.

Performance and Fitment

These interlocking knuckles were revamped from the original Crane Axle Dana 60 design to support multiple steering configurations, ensuring proper clearance for Jeeps and full-size 4x4 trucks. Perfect for builders running tie rods, Y-link steering, or full high-steer arms in off-road or competition settings.

Fitment scope: Intended for GM/Chevrolet & GMC 1-ton 4x4 trucks originally equipped with a Dana 60 front kingpin axle (1977–1991). If your truck has been axle-swapped to a GM Dana 60 front, this kit will apply to the axle regardless of body style. Verify kingpin (not ball-joint) knuckles before ordering.
