The Crane Axle GM 14-Bolt 30-Spline Aluminum Wheel Hubs are a lightweight upgrade for GM 14-bolt full-float rear axle builds using a 30-spline hub configuration. Precision machined in the USA from 6061 billet aluminum, these hubs replace heavy factory-style hubs to reduce rotating and unsprung weight at the rear axle.

Reducing weight at the hub helps the suspension react more effectively while decreasing the mass the drivetrain has to accelerate and the brakes have to slow down. For rock crawlers, rock bouncers, Ultra4 cars, trail buggies, and other performance 14-bolt builds, these hubs provide a strong, serviceable way to remove weight where it matters without compromising the axle platform.

Includes:

FAQ

Why use aluminum wheel hubs on a GM 14-bolt?

Aluminum hubs reduce both unsprung and rotating weight compared with heavier factory-style hubs. Removing weight at the axle helps the suspension react more effectively and reduces the rotating mass the drivetrain and brakes have to control.

Are these hubs designed for a factory GM 14-bolt?

These hubs are designed around GM 14-bolt full-float rear axle applications using a compatible 30-spline configuration. Because 14-bolt axles are commonly modified with different shafts, spindles, brakes, and wheel-end components, verify the complete axle configuration before ordering.

Why does reducing unsprung weight matter off-road?

The wheel hub is part of the unsprung mass the suspension must control as the tire moves over rocks, bumps, and uneven terrain. Reducing that weight can help the suspension respond more effectively and maintain better wheel control.

Why does reducing rotating weight matter?

Wheel hubs rotate with the axle assembly, so the drivetrain must accelerate them and the braking system must slow them down. Reducing rotating mass decreases the amount of weight those systems have to control.

Are these aluminum hubs strong enough for off-road use?

Yes. Crane Axle machines these hubs from 6061 billet aluminum specifically for performance GM 14-bolt axle applications, including rock crawlers, buggies, and competition off-road builds.

Are the bearing races included?

Yes. The required bearing races are included and come pre-installed in the hubs.
