Yukon Dana 44 Open Carrier Case for 30 Spline Axles - 3.92 & Up
YUKYC D706025
This Yukon Dana 44 standard open carrier case is designed for differential rebuilds, gear ratio changes, and replacement applications requiring a 3.92 and numerically higher carrier break. Built for Dana 44 front and rear axle assemblies using 30 spline axle shafts, this carrier case provides a dependable foundation for stock replacement or custom drivetrain builds across a wide range of Jeep, Ford, Chevy, Dodge, GMC, and International platforms.
Designed as a bare carrier case without spider gears, this unit allows builders to install the desired internal gear set and differential components specific to the application. The 2-3/8" tall case design is intended for Dana 44 applications using deeper gear ratios commonly found in off-road, towing, rock crawling, and larger tire setups.
Includes:
- (1) Dana 44 Standard Open Carrier Case
Note:
- Spider gears are NOT included
- Fits 30 spline axle applications only
- Designed for 3.92 and numerically higher gear ratios

Tech Insight
Dana 44 differentials use carrier breaks that determine which carrier case offset is required based on the installed gear ratio. This carrier is specifically designed for 3.92 and numerically higher gear ratios, which position the ring gear differently than lower numerical ratios.
Open carrier cases remain popular for restoration builds, custom axle assemblies, and off-road applications because they provide maximum flexibility for spider gear selection and drivetrain configuration. In many Dana 44 applications, changing from factory highway gears to deeper off-road ratios requires a carrier change to properly establish backlash and ring gear alignment during setup.
