The Crane Axle Dana 60 King Pin Spring Eliminator Kit is designed to replace the factory kingpin spring preload system found in Dana 60 kingpin front axles. By replacing the OEM spring assembly with heavy durometer preload bushings, this system improves steering stability, reduces unwanted knuckle movement, and increases durability under high steering loads.
Factory kingpin springs are a common wear and failure point in lifted trucks, rock crawlers, and heavy-duty off-road vehicles running larger tires and high steer systems. Under repeated steering load and suspension articulation, the factory spring can compress and lose preload consistency, leading to steering looseness, vibration, and death wobble.
